Frequently Asked Questions – NHA Certification Exam
1. How do I register for my NHA exam?
You must create an account at www.nhanow.com. After your account is created, list your school (e.g., All Things Medical) as your training provider. Once exam dates are available, log in and register for your desired test.
2. I don’t see any test dates—what should I do?
If there are no dates listed under your account, it means no testing sessions are currently available. Check back regularly or contact your school for the next scheduled date.
3. Can I take the NHA exam at home?
Yes! NHA offers live remote proctoring for many of its exams. If you wish to test from home, reach out to NHA support directly for setup and approval instructions.
4. Do I have to pay for the exam when I register?
Yes. Payment is required to secure your exam seat. If you do not complete payment and registration before the deadline, you will not be able to take the test.
5. What happens if I miss the registration deadline?
Unfortunately, if you miss the deadline, you will need to wait for the next available exam date. Registration deadlines are firm.
6. What is the passing score for the NHA exam?
The passing score varies by certification. Most exams require a scaled score of 390 out of 500 to pass.
7. What should I bring on test day?
You must bring a valid photo ID and any other required materials (which vary by testing method). If you're testing in person, follow your school’s instructions. For remote exams, ensure your computer meets NHA’s tech requirements.
8. When will I get my exam results?
Results are usually available within 48 hours for most exams taken online. For paper-based exams, allow up to 2 weeks.
9. What happens if I fail the exam?
You are allowed three attempts to pass the exam. If you fail, you must wait 30 days before retaking it. Additional fees apply for each attempt.
10. Will I receive a physical certificate?
Yes! Once you pass, NHA mails a printed certificate to the address on file. You can also download and print your digital certificate from your NHA account.
11. How long is my NHA certification valid?
Most certifications are valid for two years. You will need to complete continuing education and renew through your NHA account before it expires.
